Challenge: Redesign the online quote tool for this catastrophic insurance agency, while keeping the needs and habits of their user base in mind.
Process: An extensive discovery period allowed us to learn a new industry, meet current users, and create IA documents and user personas. Once we understood the tool as it stood, I was able to streamline the data entry process for the user base. Keeping entry screens concise, adding a progress bar and using color and scale to create a visual hierarchy of information helped the tool become more intuitive to use. I used the Invision app for easy design prototyping and as a quick way to test user flow. Feedback post-launch has been extremely positive.
